Police searching for missing woman Gaynor Lord have released new footage of what they say is the last sighting of her on CCTV before she disappeared.

The 34-second clip shows the 55-year-old, wearing glasses and a long coat, walking along St Augustines Street in Norwich, which is busy with passing traffic, at 4.01pm on Friday, 8 December.

The mother-of-three disappeared after leaving work early from Norwich city centre at 2.45pm. Her belongings were reported found in Wensum Park – around 1.5 miles away from her workplace at Jarrold department store – at around 8pm.

Speaking to media at Wensum Park in Norwich, Chief Superintendent Dave Buckley said are focusing their search on the river as there was a "high probability" that Lord entered the Wensum after her clothing, mobile phone, glasses and jewellery, including two rings, were discovered at various locations in the park.

Specialist divers are working in an “extraordinarily challenging environment” and it would take “a couple of days” or longer to complete the search of area where Lord is thought to have entered the water.

Ch Supt Buckley also said that officers "couldn't explain" some of Lord's behaviour on the day she went missing. He added that police had “some indications” of why she left the department store where she worked early.

“We’ve got some indications as to why she behaved the way in which she did but what we’re doing is we’re just working backwards now to actually truly understand what may have taken place,” he said.

“We’re working really closely with family, with friends, with anybody else who might have had contact with her in the recent days or weeks to try and understand why this might have happened.”

Norwich policing commander Superintendent Wes Hornigold previously confirmed that officers are working with Lancashire Constabulary - the force that investigated the disappearance of Nicola Bulley - in the search for Lord.

Bulley's body was found in the River Wyre on 19 February about a mile from where she vanished while walking her dog at St Michael's on Wyre on 27 January, after weeks of searching by police. An inquest concluded that her death was accidental.
