GBI: Dog attack leads to discovery of body in Brooks

May 10—QUITMAN — A call about a dog attack Thursday led to the discovery of a body in Brooks County.

Around 4:45 p.m., Brooks County Sheriff's Office deputies headed to 2317 Webster Road in Quitman on a complaint of juveniles attacked by a dog, a Georgia Bureau of Investigation statement said.

The deputies found several aggressive dogs and found the juveniles had already been taken to the hospital; they then found the body of Courtney Williams, 35, in the home's yard.

The GBI was asked by the sheriff's office to assist with the investigation. An autopsy will be performed by the GBI medical examiner's office to determine the cause of death.
