General election 2024: Full list of every candidate standing in Dorset
Voters across Dorset will be heading to the polling stations on Thursday (July 4) and have their say on how the country should be run. Eight seats are up for contention, with the Conservative Party winning all parliamentary seats in Dorset in 2019.
Many candidates who were victorious then are seeking re-election, while some familiar faces in local politics will be running to become a MP. Christopher Chope has the biggest majority in Christchurch with a 24,617 majority in 2019 while Tobias Ellwood will be seeking to defend his majority of 8,806 in Bournemouth East.
This general election will be the first of its kind where voters will be asked to show a form of photographic ID at their local polling station. This can include driving licence, passport, blue badge, identity card or travel passes such as older person's bus pass, disabled person's bus pass.
