Summary:

The constituency of Hampstead and Highgate has come around like a boomerang.

It was abolished in 2010, and renamed Hampstead and Kilburn, only to return to its previous name now.

The late actress Glenda Jackson represented this area of north London, renowned for its “Champagne Socialists”, but also with deprived communities, from 1992 to 2015.

Tulip Siddiq succeeded her in Hampstead and Kilburn and is now shadow City minister, winning at the 2019 election by 14,188 votes.

She played a key role campaigning for the release of Nazanin Zaghari-Radcliffe from prison in Iran.

YouGov MRP poll prediction: Labour hold

Evening Standard view: The “Champagne Socialists” and army of other Labour activists in this constituency should soon be popping the corks for another win for their party.
