Voters in Warwick and Leamington have no fewer than six candidates to choose from when they go to the polls for the General Election next month. Incumbent Matt Western, who has held the seat for Labour since 2017, is returning to defend the constituency.

He is challenged by five candidates - you can see the full candidate list below. Warwick and Leamington is, for the 2024 General Election considered a ‘new seat’ because of boundary changes; however the constituency has been held by Labour since 2017. Up until 1997 it was considered a Conservative ‘safe seat’ but James Plaskitt took it for Labour as Tony Blair swooped to power.

Chris White took it back for the Conservatives under David Cameron’s success in 2010 and it changed back to Labour in 2017 when Matt Western won the seat.

The constituency consists of the towns of Warwick and Royal Leamington Spa along with the surrounding villages and countryside including Bishop’s Tachbrooke. Milverton, Lillington, Offchurch, Hunningham, Eathorpe and Wappenbury.
