If you’re anything like us, you’ll finally be showing your slow cooker the love and respect it deserves right now. Maybe, up until a few weeks ago, you were just using yours to cook rice and make soup (guilty…), but since lockdown, everyone’s really starting to make the most of their slow cookers.

We’ve had slow cooker KFC, slow cooker banana bread, slow cooker lamb kebabs, and now, please welcome to the stage… slow cooker Nando's roast chicken!

Yup. Some genius has cooked a full Nando's peri-peri chicken in their slow cooker, so even thought Nando's has shut its restaurants for the time being, we can still enjoy a taste of Nando's chicken a home!

Sharing a photo of the delicious-looking roast chicken on the Slow Cooking UK Facebook page, the creator of this dream dinner said: “First time making a roast style whole chicken in my multipurpose slow cooker and I was so impressed.

“I cooked it on high for 4 hours, and was surprised at how juicy it was.”

When fans of her work started asking how she did it, the home cook said: “For this one, I used cayenne pepper, hot chilli powder, garlic and onion powder, cajun seasoning, turmeric powder and some of my Indian curry powder.”

She also explained that she made a doughnut shaped tin foil ring and placed it under the chicken in the slow cooker to make sure the bottom didn’t burn.

Don’t know about you, but I’m very much rummaging through my spice rack to see if I can make this for my tea tonight…
