Yahoo News George Clooney thrashes Donald Trump TWICE in one week
To be honest, we never knew that George Clooney had it in him.
The Hollywood nice guy has taken down his President in glorious fashion this week, hitting back at comments the billionaire made about the movie industry and following up with a poignant tribute to the sports stars who are currently under attack from Trump.
It all kicked off when the US Commander in Chief claimed that Hollywood is full of ‘liberal elites’.
George – who is married to human rights lawyer Amal Clooney – responded in The Daily Beast, and said: “I grew up in Kentucky. I sold insurance door-to-door. I sold ladies’ shoes. I worked at an all-night liquor store.
“So this idea that I’m somehow the “Hollywood elite” and this guy who takes a shit in a gold toilet is somehow the man of the people is laughable.
“I just look at it and I laugh when I see him say “Hollywood elite.” Hollywood elite? I don’t have a star on Hollywood Boulevard, Donald Trump has a star on Hollywood Boulevard! F*** you!”
Feeling like he hadn’t fully scratched the uncomfortable itch that Trump stirred, he then wrote a poem to support the American Football players that the US President has called to be sacked.
Sports stars have offended Trump by kneeling during the playing of the Star Spangled Banner at the beginning of NFL games, because it has become a civil rights protest. And the former ‘The Apprentice USA’ star went on a twitter tirada against them this week, and labelled NFL a ‘boring game’.
Fortunately, few in Hollywood agree with him.

The hashtag #TakeAKnee has gone viral online and George penned this ode to America and Tamir Rice, the 12-year-old African-American boy who was tragically shot dead in 2014 by a white police officer.
“I pray for my country. I pray that we can find more that unites us than divides us.
“I pray that our nation’s leaders want to do the same. I pray that young children like Tamir Rice can feel safe in their own neighbourhood.
“I pray for all of our children. I pray for our police and first responders.
“I pray for our men and women of the armed services. I pray that dissent will always be protected in this great country.
“I pray for a more perfect union. And when I pray, I kneel.”
