George North is opening a new Baffle Haus café just outside Cardiff

Wales rugby legend George North is opening a second location of his popular café along with a new pop-up coffee shop just outside Cardiff. The new Baffle Haus café and pop-up, Clubhaus, will be taking over the former Old Post Inn pub in Swansea Road, Bonvilston, Vale of Glamorgan.

Baffle Haus is a destination café inspired by motorcycles that is open to those on two wheels, four wheels, or anything in between. After first opening in 2021 in Pontypool the café has become a great success. We visited the café and you can read what we made of it here.

The new location, Baffle Haus: Old Post, is aimed to be open in the later months of this summer. The team are stripping the old pub to transform it into a bikers' haven with a kitchen, café, retail shop, and fuelling station similar to the location in Pontypool.

On social media the company estimated it would be open around August or September this year. While work is currently being done to the former pub a pop-up coffee shop is opening its doors next week.

The pop-up, Clubhaus, is expected to welcome the public to the new site on Tuesday, May 7, at the barns on the same property as the former Old Post Inn. The Clubhaus will serve customers at a second location during the summer while they wait for the main building to be finished. One aspect of the new location that drew the owners' attention is the large car park. North, who is to join French Pro D2 outfit Provence next season after leaving Ospreys, said: "It's a wicked space, wicked links to some good roads. Being an old pub it's got a lot bigger car park which is brilliant so we can open our doors for a lot more car clubs and bike clubs as well."
