Gillian Keegan has lost her seat on a disastrous general election night for the Conservatives.

Ms Keegan, born in Leigh and raised in Huyton, served as Education Secretary in Rishi Sunak's cabinet. She lost her Chichester seat to the Liberal Democrats with Jess Brown-Fuller taking the seat.

Ms Brown-Fuller won 25,540 votes to Ms Keegan's 13,268 in a comprehensive win for the Lib Dems. It brings Ms Keegan's seven-year stint in parliament to an end on a night which has seen many Tories already lose their seats.
