Girl dragged into Wickersley Woods and sexually attacked as suspect's description released

Police have issued the description of a sex attacker after a 13-year-old girl was dragged into the woods and assaulted.

The schoolgirl was walking alongside Wickersley Woods on either Saturday, May 11, or Sunday, May 12, in Rotherham when she was pulled into the woodland and sexually attacked. She believes her attacker was of a similar age or slightly older than her.

Now, South Yorkshire Police are appealing for information surrounding the terrifying attack and in doing so, have released a description of the boy. He is described as being white with freckles, blue eyes, a large nose and around 5ft 9ins tall. He was of a bigger build and is said to have a strong Scottish accent.

In a statement, a force spokesperson said: "We are appealing for information after it was reported a 13-year-old girl was sexually assaulted around 12pm on either Saturday 11 or Sunday 12 May in the Wickersley area of Rotherham.

"The girl reported to officers she was walking alongside Wickersley Woods when she was pulled into the woods and assaulted by a boy she believes to be of similar age or slightly older than her. He has been described as white with freckles, blue eyes, and a large nose, around 5ft 9ins tall, and of a bigger build. He also has a strong Scottish accent.
