BBC One’s Gladiators reboot is reaching crunch point with the first semi-final having already be held, and the second set to take place this weekend.
Based on the popular 90s show of the same name, this newly retooled Gladiators features a brand new selection of warriors alongside a familiar array of challenges, with each show culminating in a face-off with dreaded endurance-tester The Eliminator.

Each week, plucky members of the public who think they’re strong enough to take on the Gladiators are invited to put their muscles where their mouths are, with winners progressing to the next stage of the competition.
With the show’s conclusion nearing and just two episodes remaining, here’s everything you need to know about the Gladiators semi-finals, including how and where to watch and details of who’s taking part.
When is the Gladiators 2024 semi-final on TV?
The first of Gladiators’ two semi-finals aired on BBC One on Saturday, 9 March. Viewers who missed out on the action can catch up on BBC iPlayer now.
The second semi-final will be shown at 5:50pm on BBC One this Saturday, 23 March. It was originally set to air on Saturday, 16 March, but this was pushed due to a scheduling clash with the FA Cup quarter-final.
Who is taking part in the Gladiators 2024 semi-finals?
After a gruelling first series which has seen amateur hopefuls face off against lycra-clad brutes like Diamond, Electro, Atomic, Sabre, Apollo, Dynamite and Viper, only a small handful of contestants have managed to go all the way.
After a tense few rounds, eight contestants made it to the semi-finals.
The first semi-final saw Sheffield’s Jake Spence stepping in to replace an injured Dev Pankhania to face British Army officer Finlay Anderson.
Finlay was the first to cross the finish line of the Eliminator, booking his place in the final.
Betti Worth faced Bronte Jones in the first women’s semi-final, but 34-year-old Betti was narrowly beaten to the finish line by 23-year-old Bronte who booked her place in the final.
The other semi final will see Wesley Male taking on Chung Leung, and Marie-Louise Nicholson facing Kerry Wilson.
When is the Gladiators final?
The final of Gladiators 2024 will air on BBC One on Saturday, 30 March. The episode will kick off at 5:50pm.
