Glasgow drivers warned 'do not double park' as van obstructing junction towed away

Police have warned Glasgow motorists "don't double park" otherwise you face having your vehicle towed away.

It comes following an incident in the Govanhill area of the south side where a van was caught having double parked and blocking a junction.

It was parked on Allison Street when spotted by Police Scotland's local problem solving team on Tuesday (July 9) night. The van was later towed away from the area and the road made safe again for other drivers.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland Greater Glasgow wrote about the incident on X, urging drivers to follow the rules of the road which include parking in designated spaces.

They wrote: "Gorbals Local Problem Solving Team were in the Govanhill area. This vehicle was double parked near a junction and causing an obstruction.

"Please only park in designated spaces, don’t double park and don’t park at junctions."
