Glasgow TRNSMT 2024 - banned items list and what you can take to festival site

One of the biggest events of the summer, the TRNSMT festival is returning to Glasgow Green this month, with thousands of music fans looking forward to three days of fantastic entertainment.

Taking place over the weekend of July 12 to July 14, the list of top acts set to appear includes the likes of Liam Gallagher, Gerry Cinnamon, Calvin Harris and the Sugababes, with plenty of food, drink, dancing and epic live music for fans to enjoy.

To stay on the right side of security though, the organisers have asked those planning to attend to check ahead for what is allowed at the festival.

Should anyone make the mistake of ignoring the banned item list, the could be refused entry.

Those planning to attend should also bring valid ID and no under 16s will be admitted to the event.

Valid IDs

Valid IDs are considered UK or International full or provisional driving licence, UK or international passport or National Proof of Age Standards Scheme card with the PASS hologram (e.g. Young Scot, CitizenCard, My ID Card).

No photocopies or pictures of the IDs will be accepted and they must resemble the person who is trying to use them. Those who don't will be subject to extra checks or refusal to enter or for any alcohol purchase.

Cashless Festival

Anyone attending the festival should be aware that no cash of any kind will be accepted by the vendors on site, meaning only cards will be accepted when making any kind of purchase.

What you can bring

Bring an empty soft collapsible water bottle or pouch which is 500ml or smaller so you can refill this at the free water points across the festival throughout the day.

Small travel size sunscreen, portable phone chargers, lip balm and makeup, small cameras, sunglasses, wipes, ear plugs, and hand sanitiser can all be brought into the festival.

If you need to bring medicine, it must be clearly labelled in the original box or container and only be enough for one day. If you use a syringe, please take this to one of our first aid points where you can dispose of this safely.

Phone charging

Portable chargers will once again be provided by 3Charging with multiple locations in the arena. 3Charging is available to everyone - though a small fee may apply if you aren't a Three customer.

Full list of restrictions

  • Ticketholders who leave the event will not be permitted to re-enter the event.

  • Inappropriate and unsafe behaviour such as crowd surfing, moshing, crowd circles, throwing objects.

  • Domestic football tops or tops displaying club logos are not permitted.

  • No trading of any items in or around the Venue without the consent of management or the local authority, including goods with unauthorised event or artist logos.

  • Flares, gas or smoke devices and fireworks are not permitted.

  • Sparklers, party poppers, confetti cannons, Chinese / sky lanterns, firewood, candles or any flames.

  • Professional camera/video/audio equipment including removable lenses, drones, portable laser equipment, laser pens, air horns, megaphones and sound systems.

  • Vuvuzelas.

  • Kites, frisbees and boomerangs.

  • Spray paint cans and aerosols of any size.

  • All glass (including perfume bottles).

  • Unofficial tabards and reflective jackets (hi-vis).

  • Flagpoles, umbrellas, selfie sticks, inflatables, folding chairs and any item that could be considered a weapon, including multi-tools, are not permitted.

  • Rucksacks bigger than A4 paper.

  • Disposable vapes.

  • Drugs.

  • Hard plastic, metal, or glass water bottles or backpack hydration packs are not permitted into the event and will be confiscated and not returned.

  • Any food and drink.

Lost Items

There is no lost/found property location at the festival.

If you are unfortunate enough to lose a personal item, organisers say that all property recovered by stewards will be passed to Police Scotland and available to collect from the Monday after the festival.

The organisers added that you can call them on 101 to check if your item has been found.
