Glastonbury 2024 fans issue complaint over Shania Twain set and say 'gutted'

Those tuning in to watch all the Glastonbury Festival 2024 action were left 'gutted' as they issued complaints over Shania Twain's performance. The country singer took to the Pyramid Stage in the coveted Legends slot on Sunday (June 30).

She opened her hit-filled set with her 1998 classic That Don’t Impress Me Much. The star, who told the BBC before the festival opened that she would love to enter the stage on horseback, was instead joined by several drag queens holding horse puppets.

Shania, 58, looked sensational as she wore a black cowboy hat and pink ruffled outfit while singing to thousands of festival-goers at Worthy Farm, with many also donning cowboy hats, as plenty more watched the action from home across the BBC.

During the set, the crowd joined in as Shania performed a shortened acoustic version of You’re Still The One. She then sang the track in full as festival-goers waved their arms in unison. "We’re going to carry on with the singalong," she said before playing the guitar and performing Forever And For Always alongside a violin accompaniment.

The celebrities were also out in force for Shania, with the likes of Jack Whitehall, Cara Delevingne, Anya Taylor-Joy, Emma Corrin and Rami Malek spotted watching the Canadian singer perform.

Shania was also keeping an eye on the crowd, telling the huge gathering surrounding her stage: “I can see a lot of cowboy hats” – an accessory that has become a staple at her gigs.

But some weren't impressed much due to what they believed were sound issues during the superstar's set and flocked to social media to complain.

@BoycottsBat asked: "What the hell is the matter with the sound on this Shania Twain set? #Glastonbury2024." @ashlawless commented: "Loving the queen Shania Twain at #Glastonbury2024 but the sound issues are tough." @cats4smm added: "Shania Twain is an amazing performer but the sound is just awful. She doesn’t deserve this."
