How to buy Glastonbury 2024 tickets in tonight's sale
Dates, tactics and all the info you need
Glastonbury fans are bracing themselves as the first batch of coveted tickets for the 2024 festival go on sale this week.
The process of getting tickets is a little more complicated than just clicking "add to basket", so get familiar with what you need to do and avoid missing out in 2024.
Here's everything you need to know about how to be at next year's Glastonbury Festival.
When is Glastonbury Festival 2024?
Glastonbury Festival will take place between Wednesday 26 and Sunday 30 June 2024.
The festival takes a break – also known as a fallow year – once every five years to allow Worthy Farm's fields time to recover.
However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the festival took an extended break after 2019's event, missing 2020 and 2021's editions but returning in 2022.
It's set to go ahead next year – and for a few years after that, too, before another break.
When do Glastonbury 2024 tickets go on sale?
General admission tickets tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2024 will go on sale at 9am GMT on Sunday, 19 November.
Those looking to buy a ticket plus coach travel package will be able to do so a few days earlier when they go on sale from 6pm GMT on Thursday, 16 November.
Tickets for Glastonbury 2024 will cost £355 plus a £5 booking fee - but those looking to attend will only need to pay a deposit of £75 (plus coach fare for those booking that travel option) with the remaining balance due during the first week of April 2024.
This deposit is slightly higher than in previous years, with the festival typically only asking for a £50 payment to secure a ticket.
A limited number of extra tickets will go on sale next spring.
How to buy tickets for Glastonbury 2024
If you want a 2024 Glastonbury ticket, you need to get organised.
Competition for tickets is fierce each year and to add to the difficulty, you will need to have already pre-registered on the official Glastonbury website.
Everyone over the age of 13 will also get a registration number that needs to be used to buy tickets, so if you're buying for a group, you'll need everyone's registration number.
Registrations must include a picture of yourself at the correct size with the correct background.
This is to guard against selling on and touts, as your photo will be featured on your ticket if you're lucky enough to get one.
Those who have registered in previous years and since 2010 should already have a valid registration number, although registrations from before 2010 have been deleted and you'll also need to ensure your photo still looks like you.
Once tickets go on sale, you'll need to get in quick to secure them, so make sure you're ready and waiting on more than one device for the sale to open to give yourself the best chance of buying tickets.
The balance then has to be paid by the first week in March.
Which ticket type do you need for Glastonbury 2024?
Most people will need to buy a weekend camping ticket for the festival, although there are some local and Sunday-only tickets available for those living near the site.
In previous years, people living nearby have had the chance to buy tickets before the general public by paying a deposit.
There are a number of camping options available, from the main campsite areas which are included in the price of a weekend ticket, to bringing a campervan, hiring one of the on-site tipis or booking the off-site camping area Worthy View.
If you're bringing children, those 12 and under don't need a ticket and won't need to register.
