There are few things more anxiety-inducing than trying to buy Glastonbury tickets – and 2024’s festival is no exception, especially now that this year’s line-up has been announced.

Passes for this year’s fest went on sale in late 2023, with coach tickets becoming available on 16 November and general admission tickets going on sale on 19 November.

Both batches sold out fast, leaving some punters happy and others a little miffed that they weren’t so lucky. However, there is still one more chance to try for tickets before headliners Coldplay, Dua Lipa and SZA take to the stage at Worthy Farm in June.

The process of getting Glastonbury tickets is a little more complicated than just clicking “add to basket.” To get you up to speed, here’s everything you need to know about how to be at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

Glastonbury Festival will take place between Wednesday 26 and Sunday 30 June 2024.

The festival takes a break – also known as a fallow year – once every five years to allow Worthy Farm’s fields time to recover. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the festival took an extended break after 2019’s event, missing 2020 and 2021’s editions but returning in 2022.

It’s set to go ahead next year – and for a few years after that, too, before another break.

General admission tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2024 went on sale in November 2023 and are now sold out. Competition for tickets is fierce each year and to add to the difficulty, people needed to pre-register on the official Glastonbury website.

While this sounds a little bleak, don’t despair just yet.

A limited number of cancelled or refunded tickets will become available during a planned resale which is set to take place in April. This usually happens after the balance-paying deadline for those who have already put down a deposit for a ticket passes – but details of an official date and time for this resale have yet to be revealed.

The option to put down a deposit will not be available during the resale. Instead, would-be festival goers must pay the ticket balance in full. However, before they can do this, they also must be registered. To do this, head here.

Everyone over the age of 13 will also get a registration number that needs to be used to buy tickets, so if you're buying for a group, you’ll need everyone’s registration number.

Registrations must include a picture of yourself at the correct size with the correct background.

This is to guard against selling on and touts, as your photo will be featured on your ticket if you’re lucky enough to get one.

Those who have registered in previous years and since 2010 should already have a valid registration number, although registrations from before 2010 have been deleted and you’ll also need to ensure your photo still looks like you.

Once tickets go on sale, you’ll need to get in quick to secure them, so make sure you’re ready and waiting on more than one device for the sale to open to give yourself the best chance of buying tickets.

Tickets for Glastonbury 2024 will cost £355 plus a £5 booking fee.
