Glastonbury fans cast same verdict on Keane as Tom Chaplin leads Pyramid Stage performance

Keane won plenty of praise from fans as they performed at Glastonbury Festival 2024, with lead singer Tom Chaplin sending some a little bit wild. The alternative rock band took to the Pyramid stage on Saturday afternoon (June 29) as day two of music took over Worthy Farm.

Keane headed to the huge festival in Somerset whilst in the midst of a huge world tour that is marking 20 years since the release of their debut album Hopes and Fears, which sold more than 2.5 million copies in the UK in its first year alone and includes their classic hit Somewhere Only We Know.

Among the tracks the band performed were Bend & Break, the 2004 track that acted as their fifth and final single from their debut album, top five single, Everybody's Changing and of course, Somewhere Only We Know.

Ahead of their set, Keane’s Tim Rice-Oxley has said the band’s mission was to "get people’s attention from all over the place" during their Pyramid stage slot.

He said to the Independent: "We’re playing at four in the afternoon so you often find people are like… emerging from the hangover. They’re sort of wandering around and thinking about what they’re gonna see, waiting for the headliners. So you kind of hope you can get people’s attention from all over the place and get people singing along. That’s our mission."
