When will Glastonbury Festival be held in 2025 and how to get tickets

And there you have it - Glastonbury Festival is over for another year. More than 200,000 revellers packed into Worthy Farm to enjoy days of sensational music, celebrity cameos, raves and headline sets from Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA.

It is the epic headline performance from Coldplay, countless celebrity appearances, secret sets, Louis Tomlinson hosting an England v Slovakia screening and the dozens of quirky flags and events around Worthy Farm that make Glastonbury Festival so popular and beloved. It's no wonder the clamour for tickets every year is so intense that people try and get tickets whatever way they can.

Glastonbury Festival will take place in 2025 but the event doesn’t take place every year. After four or five festivals in a row, organisers usually declare a year off, known as a fallow year, to allow the land to recover.

Speaking to the Glastonbury Free Press, the festival’s resident newspaper, Eavis said: “We’re taking a fallow year in 2026 to give the land a rest, and the festival before a fallow year is always a fun one to plan because you almost have to fit two years into one. We’re already in talks with some acts for it. It’s exciting.”

But when will next year's Glastonbury Festival be held and how can you get tickets? Here's a quick guide below:

When is Glastonbury Festival in 2025?

The festival's official dates in 2025 have not been announced. Glastonbury Festival usually takes place on the last full weekend of June and means we can be pretty confident that the 2025 festival will run from Wednesday, June 25, to Monday, June 30.

Next year's dates will be confirmed in due course after this year's festival.

How do you get tickets for Glastonbury 2025?

Glastonbury holds its main ticket sale in October. Anyone who wants a ticket will have to be registered beforehand. When you register you need to upload a photograph of yourself.

If you’re lucky enough to get through in the sale you’ll need to put down a deposit of £75 to secure your ticket. You then pay the remaining balance during the start of April.

Tickets that are not paid off go back into the pot and are sold during a resale later in the month.

Glastonbury’s registration system is in place to prevent tickets from being resold and prevent ticket touts. Security checks are carried out to ensure that only the person in the photograph printed on your ticket is allowed into the festival.

Getting tickets to the festival is never guaranteed as the demand is so high. Millions of people register for a chance but only around 200,000 people will be lucky enough to go.

How much are tickets?

The price of Glastonbury tickets for 2025 will be revealed closer to the sale date.

The price is expected to rise so festival goers will likely spend more next year than they did this year. Tickets for the 2024 festival were priced at £355, plus a £5 booking fee. In 2023, Glastonbury tickets cost £335, plus the £5 fee. In 2022, they cost £280.

Extras such as coach fares, car parking passes or campervan pitches will cost extra. You can also hire pre-erected tipis for the weekend for an additional cost.

Who will play Glastonbury in 2025?

Unfortunately, there'll be a while to wait before we know this - yet some revellers have some good requests.

But in a recent interview on the BBC, organiser Emily Eavis did reveal that she already has an idea of who might be topping the bill.

Speaking to Nick Grimshaw and Annie Mac on the Sidetracked Podcast, she said: "I have a vague idea of who might be headlining next year, and then we might do a fallow year after that."
