Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis names Kate Bush as dream headliner

Glastonbury Festival co-organizer Emily Eavis has named Kate Bush as her dream headliner. Speaking to the BBC, she said: "I hope it will happen one day. I mean, Elton [John] was a pipe dream and it happened, so you never know".

Kate, 65, has become somewhat reclusive in recent years. However, she wouldn't be the first to use Glastonbury for a glorious comeback.

In 2022, Kendrick Lamar headlined off the heels of his first album in five years, and there have been rumours that Eminem will grace the Pyramid Stage next year to mark his own comeback.

Emily, whose father Michael Eavis founded the festival in the 70s, also coyly hinted at next year's line-up: "I have a vague idea of who might be headlining next year, and then we might do a fallow year after that." A fallow year is when the venue takes a break and doesn't host the festival.

Kate Bush has had an remarkable career: the ethereal, fae-like singer shot to #1 with her debut single Wuthering Heights, inspired by the classic Emily Brontë novel. But her most iconic song is perhaps the triple Platinum Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God), which was released in 1985 and enjoyed renewed popularity after being featured in Netflix's Stranger Things.

Impossibly cool and markedly unique, the singer has been showered with award nods. To date, she has three Grammy nominations, twelve BRIT Award nominations, and a BRIT Award win for Best British Female.

Glastonbury Festival 2024 will be held from Wednesday, June 26 to Sunday, 30 June and will feature a show-stopping line-up including Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and Keane.
