Yahoo News Glee cast members share special tribute to Naya Rivera with unreleased song
Former Glee cast members have teamed up to release a previously unfinished Naya Rivera song to honour the late actress.
Rivera, who starred as cheerleader Santana Lopez in the Ryan Murphy-created musical comedy drama series, tragically passed away in 2020 after drowning at Lake Piru in California.
The song, 'Prayer For The Broken' was released on Friday (December 1) as part of the annual Snixxmas Charity Fundraiser, which benefits Alexandria House (a charity that aims "to provide safe and supportive housing for women and children experiencing homelessness and trauma"), in honour of Naya.

“We hope that ‘Prayer For The Broken’ brings you the same comfort it has brought us over the years — a poignant reminder of Naya’s otherworldly talent and a heartfelt gift, allowing us to hear her once more through this inspiring message,” the charity said in a statement.
The song features backing vocals from other former Glee stars, including Ashley Fink, Vanessa Lengies, Kevin McHale, Heather Morris, Amber Riley and Jenna Ushkowitz.
They reportedly received permission from Naya's mother to release the song, as well as the original songwriters, Isaac Hasson and Lindy Robbins, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

McHale, who played Artie on Glee, posted a video to Instagram featuring other cast members to commemorate the song's release.
"This year, let’s celebrate the gifts Naya gave to us, her talent and her heart. This song has meant so much to me over the years, and now I hope it will for all of you," he wrote.
The Glee cast also recently paid tribute to Cory Monteith, on the tenth anniversary of his death.
In a caption to an Instagram post, Lea Michele wrote: "10 years. It feels like only yesterday that you were here and yet a million years ago all at the same time. I hold all of our memories in my heart where they will stay safe and never forgotten."
