'GMA' Fans Side With Robin Roberts After Her on-Air "Confession" About Tyler Perry

Have you ever switched around your work schedule just because you knew something interesting was happening? Well, Robin Roberts did just that, and the reason behind it is one everyone can relate to.

During the July 8 episode of Good Morning America, the TV personality sat alongside Michael Strahan and George Stephanopoulos as they welcomed Tyler Perry to the program. Tyler was there to promote his movie Divorce in the Black, which he wrote, directed and produced.

When Robin began speaking to Tyler about his project, she confessed that she actually wasn't meant to be on the air that day. She revealed she decided to switch around her work schedule because she learned Tyler would be in the studio and wanted to be there for his appearance.

"I got to tell you, full confession — George knows. I was supposed to be off today," she told Tyler in a clip posted on Instagram. "I had off in the schedule. Then I saw that you were gonna be here, and on the spot. Now my team is mad at me, because they thought they were gonna get a longer weekend, but I'm happy."

Upon hearing Robin's surprise revelation, Tyler couldn't help but express his gratitude about Robin switching her schedule around.

"Thank you, thank you for coming. I appreciate that," Tyler responded. "I hope it's worth it. I better say something funny then!"

When folks caught wind of Robin and Tyler's hilarious interaction, it didn't take long for them to side with the news reporter about her reasons for not wanting to take time off of work.

"I mean it's Tyler freaking Perry I would've done the same," one person wrote in the comments. "I would change my day off too if I got to meet you @tylerperry ❤️❤️❤️," another agreed. "Hey I would have been there to see Tyler Perry too! 😍," a different follower added.
