GMB fans stunned as they brand Simon Cowell 'unrecognisable'

Fans of Good Morning Britain were all buzzing about Simon Cowell's appearance on the show as he searches for fresh talent.

The music mogul has plans to form a brand new boy band that could reach the heights of One Direction. He announced that auditions will be taking place over the weekend at the Atlantic Pavilion in Royal Albert Dock.

Discussing his plans to create a new group, Simon appeared on ITV's popular breakfast show GMB in a pre-recorded interview with entertainment presenter Richard Arnold. Simon kicked off by saying: "I'm looking for another band because there isn't one. I mean there are K-Pop bands but in terms of UK bands like One Direction, there hasn't been one in all that time."

"They don't knock on your door so there is only one way of doing it, you have to go out in cities and hope that people will turn up and audition. We thought that we would document the whole thing so if it works or it doesn't you will be able to see everything."

Richard asked: "Why a boy band in particular?" before Simon explained: "I thought we could either do a boy band or a girl band and I thought let's start with a boy band."

Richard queried, "What will the audition process look like?" to which Simon responded: "I didn't want to set it up as there is a desk we made and we are going to sit behind it or have the singer trying to find other singers, it's much more about people I have worked with over the years and have had a lot of success who will be there to help me."

He went on to say: "I'm not going to lie, I am nervous - nervous like going on a rollercoaster. You know there is going to be ups and downs and you're going to be terrified. The thought of this not working and that is really scary. I'll be really disappointed."

Wrapping up the interview, he stated: "There is a purpose for doing this. I think it is time that Britain has a successful band again."

However, during the interview, Good Morning Britain viewers were more focused on his altered looks. @Itt39354118 tweeted: "He needs to lay off the botox #gmb."

@FunniBirdie asked: “WTF has #SimonCowell done to his face!?! @GMB.” @CarrieHef said: “@GMB what has Simon Cowell done to his face?!?! #goodmorningbritain.”

Simon previously revealed he had his filler dissolved after his son Eric "was in hysterics" over his face. "I saw a picture of me from 'before' the other day, and didn't recognise it as me first of all," he told The Sun last year. “Eric was in hysterics. Enough was enough. There is no filler in my face at all now. Zero."

He added: "There was a phase where everyone was having their faces pumped full of this and the other. But actually, for me now, a lot of it comes down to healthy eating and drinking tonnes of water."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
