It is a truth universally acknowledged that Piers Morgan loves a bit of drama, so we're a little surprised at the latest twist in the tale of Piers vs Little Mix (feat Jack Whitehall).

After comedian Jack tried his hardest to embarrass, well, everyone at this week's Brit Awards, Piers hit out at Little Mix for 'laughing' along with Whitehall after he mocked the broadcaster's "voluptuous breasts and four chins".

"Shocked & disappointed to see @LittleMix LAUGH as @jackwhitehall fat-shames me on national television," Piers said, stirring the pot.

"It's just this kind of public negative body image mockery that the same @LittleMix campaigned against & of which I am now a victim. Shame on you, ladies!"

But now, after Collabro singer Jamie Lambert called Piers a "snowflake" on Twitter, things have taken a surprisingly light-hearted tone.

Rather than feeling mortally offended by Whitehall's comments, the Good Morning Britain host is instead insisting he's "amused" by the whole thing – and even grateful for the "fat-shaming".

"Actually, I was just amused by the hypocrisy. I need fat-shaming, I've put on a bit too much timber recently with all my ailments," he replied.

Piers recently sparked concern – yes, concern – over his "ailments" after sharing a photo from hospital last month. Not that he remembers anything about it, mind.
