GMB's Richard Madeley confirms birth of fifth grandchild

Good Morning Britain host Richard Madeley has become a grandfather for a fifth time as he's confirmed there's a new arrival in his family.

The presenter shared the news with viewers while chatting with his co-host Susanna Reid on Monday's (October 16) episode the early morning ITV show.

Madeley revealed his son Jack and daughter-in-law Issy have welcomed thier second child, a baby girl called Wren.

"You've been adding to your family, haven't you Richard?" Reid queried during a segment about adult children living at home, leading the presenter to confirm the latest edition to his family.

"Well, I have to say, yes. Little Wren is my fifth grandchild," he replied.

"Aw congratulations," Susanna replied, as a photograph of Madeley appeared on-screen holding baby Wren.

"She's only about five days old. She's a sweetie," he said of the images. "I have to say, with all the horrible news floating around, it was a very pleasant afternoon... Just something to celebrate."

Richard shares children Jack and Chloe with wife Judy Finnigan. Jack also has four-year-old son Kit, and Chloe has daughter Bodhi, one, with I'm a Celebrity star and rugby player James Haskell.

Their grandchildren also include Ivy and Eden, the children of one Judy's sons from a previous marriage.

Alongside presenting, Richard also made an appearance on I'm a Celebrity in 2021 but was later forced to leave the camp after a precautionary trip to hospital, due to COVID regulations at the time.

"I had this funny turn, I got dehydrated and so that meant I broke the Covid bubble as they insisted I went to hospital," he said of his exit in 2022, adding that he had "unfinished business" with the show.
