Gogglebox stars split and explain reason why in separate statements

Gogglebox star Stephen Lustig-Webb has split from his husband Daniel. The pair married six years ago.

Stephen, 52, who has been on the Channel 4 show since the start, owns a hair salon in Brighton with his ex Daniel, 43. They recently expanded the business to open another salon nearby.

Stephen told The Sun that there was still 'a lot of love' between them but they had decided to call it a day because they had 'grown apart'. He said: “It’s with much sadness Daniel and I have decided to divorce.

"There is, and always will be, a lot of love there but we’ve unfortunately grown apart and made the decision to part ways."

Daniel also issued a statement, saying: “We’ve made the decision with a very heavy heart to confirm our marriage has come to an end. I’m sure we will forever be friends.”

Stephen first appeared on the Channel 4 show along former friend Chris Ashby-Steed. He went on to film with his late mum, Pat, who passed away aged 75 in January.

In a tribute, Stephen said his mother was "one in a million" and the "absolute centre of our world". Writing on Instagram, he said: "Mummy Pat, you were one in a million, took everyone at face value, would share your last fiver with a stranger, the salt of the earth and the absolute centre of our world! Rest in peace mum."

Daniel joined him on the sofa in 2019 before the pair announced they were leaving the show last year. Their departure came as Stephen was due to take part in Dancing On Ice this year. But he was forced to pull out of the ITV ice-skating competition after breaking an ankle before it had even started,

He was replaced on the ITV show by Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards.
