Gogglebox's Daniel Lustig says 'got to the point' and shares circumstances behind 'tough split'

Former Gogglebox star Daniel Lustig has broken his silence on the reasons that led to his 'unhappy' divorce from husband Stephen Webb. Stephen Webb and Daniel Lustig rose to fame on the hit Channel 4 show.

Fans were heartbroken when the pair confirmed last year that they'd be exiting the show - a show in which Stephen had been an essential part since its inception in 2013. In April, they then announced they were getting a divorce after being married for six years.

The pair, who are still living in their Brighton flat as it waits to sell and have vowed to remain good friends, recently stepped out together as they went shopping with their pooches and said they were 'co-parenting'. Daniel candidly shared the circumstances leading up to their tough decision to split in a chat with Ok! Magazine.

He divulged: "Neither one of us wanted to be unhappy. When we called time on it, yes it was very upsetting, because when you get married and walk down the aisle you don't think that's ever going to happen, you can't think that, you have to think positively."

Daniel continued: "We got to the point where we'd talked about the breakup, about why we were breaking up, how we were going to go through it, and how we were both feeling. When we both felt in a stable place and a bit more confident, and also there for each other, that's when we put it out."

Stephen is now set to appear in E4 show Celebs Go Dating. Daniel previously said it wasn't too soon, and said he would 'support him and watch'.
