Gogglebox's Dave and Shirley supported after 'our son' update

Gogglebox fans have sent messages of support to show favourites Dave and Shirley Griffiths after they shared an update about their son.

The married couple have been welcoming viewers into their Caerphilly home since 2015 and have established themselves as fan favourites with their hilarious observations on the week's best TV. While some Gogglebox households include a number of family members, Dave and Shirley's children never appear on the hit Channel 4 show.

Away from our screens the Welsh couple have a daughter, Gemma, and a son named Simon.

In a new post on Instagram, Dave and Shirley shared a video of Simon competing in a marathon. They said: "Our son Simon running in the Newport marathon, go son he's all in black 26miles in front of him good luck butt xxx".

A follow-up post from the proud parents said he managed to complete the lengthy run in three hours and 46 minutes, with Dave and Shirley adding they were "massively proud".

Many of the couple's fans have had their say in the comments section as Yvonne said: "Good luck! I made the trip down from Scotland for the Newport 10k in 2019 - great support". Julie said: "Fantastic! Well done" and Lisa said: "Awesome time well done".
