Hollywood sweethearts Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have told how they never needed a marriage certificate to seal their union.

But the actors have never tied the knot – and don’t feel the need to.

Dishing on the secret of their happy relationship, Hawn told People magazine: “You've just got to want to be together. I don't think there's any way other than do it.”
Russell added: “For people like us, the marriage certificate wasn't going to create anything that otherwise we wouldn't have.
“I don't know. 40 years isn't enough to finally say, ‘Well I guess...’.”
Both stars did try marriage before they got together while filming 1983’s Swing Shift.
Hawn, 75, tied the knot with director Gus Trikonis in 1969 but they split after a few years. She went on to wed musician Bill Hudson in 1976, and the pair had son Oliver and daughter Kate together before going their separate ways in 1982.
Russell, 65, was married to actor Season Hubley from 1979 to 1983, and they have a son named Boston together.
Hawn and Russell also have a son together, 34-year-old Wyatt.
