Good Morning Britain's Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid caught eating healthy breakfast live on air

Good Morning Britain presenters Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan were caught eating their breakfast live on air.

As the ITV programme came back from an ad break, viewers caught a glimpse of Reid and Morgan tucking into a snack of apple and peanut butter.

Reid immediately apologised after being caught eating on camera, telling viewers: “Oh sorry. Just having a little apple and peanut butter.”

But Morgan took his chance to take a swipe at producers and their lack of kitchen equipment following the studio move.

The 53-year-old said: “I don't like apple and peanut butter because it's healthy.

“But we can't have a toaster here because of health and safety... so that means I can't have toast and banana. The breakfast I've been having for two-and-a-half years.”

However, Reid pointed out that her co-star’s mini-rant didn’t excuse her from eating on air, which she shouldn’t have been caught doing.

But it seems that their impromptu snacking worked in their favour as Morgan declared that he had won the battle and was getting a toaster for the new White City studio, following GMB’s move from London's Southbank earlier this month.

Morgan's latest rant comes a week after he left Reid covering her ears as he talked about his sex life during an interview with Pamela Anderson.

Good Morning Britain continues weekdays from 6am on ITV.
