Good Morning Britain was forced to interrupt their broadcast for a surprise news update revealing Just Stop Oil activists had invaded a private airfield at Stansted Airport.

The protestors managed to breach the Greater London Airport's defences, slicing through a fence before vandalising two seemingly unattended private jets with splashes of vibrant orange paint - all filmed for posterity.

As the breaking news unfolded, ITV's frontline team, Susanna Reid and her co-star Adil Ray, relayed the situation live on air to their understandably captivated audience. Susanna declared: "We have breaking news this morning that the Just Stop Oil activists who we saw at Stone Henge yesterday... Well, a number of other activists this morning have broken into a private airfield at Stansted Airport."

The footage of activists wielding power tools to penetrate the airfield's barrier and proceeding to spraypaint one of the private jets with their hallmark colour was screened next.

Demonstrating the film, Susanna narrated: "You can see them here cutting through the fence and then defacing two private jets with orange paint", reports the Express.

She informed viewers about a rather curious detail: "Now this is the airfield where they say Taylor Swift's private jet is believed to be parked."

However, reassuring fans and curious viewers alike, she swiftly added: "But this was not one of the jets which was attacked."

Continuing with their breaking news coverage, co-host Adil contributed: "Now it comes a day after protestors from the same group sprayed parts of Stone Henge with orange powder paint."

Taking things even further, two members from Just Stop Oil confessed they had infiltrated the airfield early Thursday dawn around 5am, armed with fire extinguishers packed with orange paint which was used to emblazon the aircrafts.

The duo involved in the climate protest at Stansted Airport have been identified as Jennifer Kowalski, 28, a former sustainability manager from Dumbarton, West Dunbartonshire, and Cole Macdonald, 22, from Brighton.

Just Stop Oil took to Twitter to announce: "Jennifer and Cole cut the fence into the private airfield at Stansted where taylorswift13's jet is parked, demanding an emergency treaty to end fossil fuels by 2030."

Good Morning Britain's audience quickly took to social media to express their opinions on the act of vandalism. One viewer commented: "Probably best to stop promoting them on your show It's exactly what they want."

Another added their voice to the discussion, saying: "How can they expect public support when they are going to bring into question public safety, people are nervous about flying as it is?"

Craig weighed in with his take: "This isn't breaking news. It's 2 bomps vandalising a fence and spray painting 2 private jets, you're giving them exactly what they want."
