As it stands, Good Omens season three is currently without an official release date.

Gaiman gave an exciting update on the series in an interview with Deadline in April 2024, revealing when exactly the series was going into production into early 2025.

He said: “I’m writing Good Omens season three, and we start shooting that in January [2025]. So I’m making stuff. And I’m definitely feeling that, OK, the ship is still sailing. But the boom is over.”

Is there a trailer for Good Omens season 3?

With cameras yet to start rolling, it’s a little too early to expect a trailer for Good Omens season 3. That said, as soon as production starts to ramp up, we’re sure we’ll start to see something, so check back again soon.

What is the plot of Good Omens season 3?

Based on Gaiman and Pratchett’s 1990 book of the same name, Good Omens is a comedic fantasy story that takes its cues from religious folklore.

At its centre are the angel Aziraphale and demon Crowley who have each lived happily on Earth ever since it was created by the powers above. They act as representatives for Heaven and Hell, respectively.

In season one, the duo’s cushy existence is suddenly thrown into disarray when the end times roll around, forcing Aziraphale and Crowley to work together to stop the Antichrist from ruining the nice lifestyles they’ve each become accustomed to.

This 2019 season was followed by a second in 2023 where Axiraphale and Crowley are brought together once more, this time when the amnesia-stricken Archangel Gabriel suddenly shows up on the former’s doorstep. With heaven and hell after him, the pair must keep this religious figure hidden from both parties.

When it comes to Good Omens season 3, exact plot details are sparse. However, Gaiman has already shared some details about what he hopes to achieve with the series’ final outing.

“I'm so happy finally to be able to finish the story Terry and I plotted in 1989 and in 2006,” said Gaiman in a statement. “Terry was determined that if we made Good Omens for television, we could take the story all the way to the end.

“Season one was all about averting Armageddon, dangerous prophecies, and the End of the World. Season two was sweet and gentle, although it may have ended less joyfully than a certain Angel and Demon might have hoped. Now in Season Three, we will deal once more with the end of the world.

“The plans for Armageddon are going wrong. Only Crowley and Aziraphale working together can hope to put it right. And they aren't talking.”

Who is in the cast of Good Omens season 3?

Much like its plot synopsis, confirmed casting details for Good Omens season 3 remain sparse, although it’s a safe bet that its two leads will be back once again, with David Tennant playing Crowley and Michael Sheen as Axiraphale.

Beyond that, the series’ cast list will largely be determined by its plot which as we already know, is still under wraps. Like much of Gaiman’s adapted-for-TV output, previous series of Good Omens have boasted some very impressive stars including Jon Hamm as season two’s Gabriel and Parks and Recreation’s Nick Offerman as US Ambassador Thaddeus Dowling.

Elsewhere, Academy Award winner Frances McDormand played God, Spinal Tap’s Michael McKean featured as a Witchfinder and Succession’s Brian Cox provided the voice of Death himself.

Hopefully, some of these names will return for one last adventure – along with some exciting new additions.
