The Good Wife's new spin-off has future confirmed
The Good Wife family is getting even bigger.
The legal drama spun off the hugely successful The Good Fight in 2017, which is coming to an end last year after six seasons, and now another spin-off has just been confirmed.
Elsbeth, starring Carrie Preston reprising her role of Elsbeth Tascioni from both shows, has been given a full series order by CBS after a successful pilot, reports Deadline.
The series will see the titular character follow up on her career in Chicago by aiding the New York Police Department in catching criminals.

Robert King and Michelle King will continue to write and executive produce, Jonathan Tolins comes over from The Good Fight to serve as showrunner, while actors Wendell Pierce and Carra Patterson join as new characters Captain CW Wagner and Officer Kaya, respectively.
The news comes at a time of upheaval in the industry, as the Writers Guild of America has gone on strike. The strike has already seen shows put on hold or outright cancelled, while others will have shorter seasons due to unfinished scripts that can't be worked on.
CBS has confirmed the cancellation of East New York and True Lies, and has also decided not to move forward with Terry Crews pilot JumpStart (which may not be related to the strike, as pilots often don't turn into full series).
The network also axed the hugely-popular SWAT, but decided to reverse that decision following huge backlash.
Meanwhile, CBS has also given series orders to a reboot of Matlock, starring Kathy Bates, and Poppa's House, a comedy from the Wayans family.
Will these new shows come to air without a hitch while the strike is on? We'll have to wait and see how things play out.
The Good Wife streams on Paramount+ while The Good Fight is available for Prime Video subscribers in the UK.
