Gordon Ramsay 'nearly died' in 'really bad' accident as he's left with horrific injuries

Gordon Ramsay has shared his own harrowing experience after a recent biking mishap left him looking "like a purple potato" from severe black and purple bruises. Taking to social media, the 57 year old celebrity chef uploaded a video that starkly showcased his injuries and stressed an important message, writing: "With #FathersDay tomorrow I have very important message for all the dads out there...WEAR A HELMET !

"This week I had a really bad accident while riding my bike in Connecticut. I'm doing ok and did not break any bones or suffer any major injuries but I am a bit bruised up looking like a purple potato."

Further expressing his gratitude, he added: "I'm thankful for all the doctors, nurses and staff at Lawerence + Memorial Hospital in New London who looked after me and checked me out, but most thankful for my helmet that saved my life. Have a great Father's Day and be safe Gx."

Shortly after detailing his close call, Ramsay's fans poured into his Instagram comments to share their relief and support.

A fan wrote: "Ramsey, I'm happy to hear that you're ok. What a scare I'm sure. The world is a better place because of people like you, so whatever you do, stay safe."
