Gordon Ramsay's Future Food Stars headed into its second episode with a challenge to create a luxurious forest feast - but a series of blunders left viewers in disbelief at how badly the contestants did.

The BBC One show has been called a food version of The Apprentice as tough chef Ramsay fires a contestant each week in the search for a business to invest in, but some of the scenes so far have been even more cringeworthy than anything Lord Sugar's candidates have done.

As the teams struggled to put together edible forest feasts using foraged ingredients, Ramsay was despairing over the gaffes made in front of feast guests.

Contestant Asher made an unfortunate slip-up as he tried to announce to the table that they were about to begin the meal with a shot of gazpacho.

A viewer tweeted: "Did someone call gazpacho 'Gestapo'? #FFS"

Someone else commented: "I may never stop laughing watching Gordon Ramsay’s #FutureFoodStars and them being told they have a gestapo for a canapé."

However, the "gestapo" shot wasn't the only thing wrong with the dish as diners checked that it was vegan and downed it...just as Asher finished listing the ingredients which included honey, prompting horrified faces.

One viewer tweeted: "Serving honey to vegans.. Jesus wept #FFS"

But others admitted they may well have made the same mistake as one person tweeted: "Got to be honest I didn't know vegans don't eat honey. Well I do now obvs...#ffs"

Someone else added: "Sorry to sound like an idiot but.... why can't vegans eat honey?? Its made from pollen etc isn't it? There not eating bumble bees?"

The disasters weren't over yet - the other team almost served up raw venison, which chef Jamie had to quickly take back to the cooking area to go back in the pan.

A viewer tweeted: "Serving honey to vegans and now raw venison? Gordon is about to lose it with these clowns."

Someone else added: "Oh my god I’m cringing for them.. cutting it infront of them and it’s raw."

Another person wrote: "Well I can guarantee I won’t be going to any of these chef’s restaurants or street food stalls. They can’t feed 12 people properly and the food was raw. Can’t call a hashtag better than ffs."

Viewers enjoyed Ramsay's trademark rage over the mistakes, though, as one person tweeted: "Will never get tired of Gordon Ramsay saying 'it's f***ing raw'."

Gordon Ramsay's Future Food Stars continues on Thursdays at 9pm on BBC One.
