A Norfolk man who doesn't drive has won a car worth £28k in an online competition.

Peter Hanley, from Gorleston, won a BMW 220i M Sport after playing BOTB’s Instant Wins Competition.

Mr Hanley was at home when he received a video call from BOTB presenter Christian Williams, who wanted to find out how he reacted to the news that he was a winner.

“Nothing like this has ever happened to me and I never win anything, so I can’t believe it,” the 63-year-old said.

“I had been playing the Instant Wins Competition throughout the week and I thought I would give it another go.

“It felt amazing when I found out I had won, and I don't think my wife could believe it either.”

The BMW 220i M Sport features an i4 Turbo engine, 182bhp and top speed of 147mph.

But the father-of-one said he would take the cash alternative as he and his wife currently don’t drive.

“Our daughter and the grandkids who live in Dubai have just come over to visit us, so we might spend some of the money on visiting them over there.

“My wife has never travelled business class, so it would be nice for her to experience that for the first time.

“We’ll probably keep the rest for a rainy day and tuck it under the bed,” added the gas rig worker.

BOTB hands over the keys to a dream car each week, as well as a lifestyle prize.

Founded by William Hindmarch in 1999, it has given away £68m-worth of cars so far.
