"Got a 12-year-old daughter in tears": Fans react after Olivia Rodrigo Co-op Live gigs cancelled with just 48 hours notice as new venue suffers yet another night of humiliation

Olivia Rodrigo fans say they have been left 'in tears' after her Co-op Live gigs were pulled just days before she was set to perform.

The American pop star was due to take over the stage over two nights on Friday (May 3) and Saturday (May 4). But two hours after A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie's show was cancelled at the last minute on Wednesday evening (May 1), arena bosses took to X to announce Olivia Rodrigo's shows would also be postponed.

It comes as the M.E.N revealed the show was cancelled after a 'piece of air conditioning unit' fell from the ceiling.

Posting on X, the arena wrote: "Due to an on-going venue-related technical issue, the scheduled performances of Olivia Rodrigo’s GUTS World Tour on 3rd and 4th May are being postponed.

Fans were quick to blast the arena for the last-minute cancellations. "Absolute shambles two days before. Got a 12 year old daughter in tears. Plus money lost on hotels etc," Ian Skirrow wrote on X.

Katie said: "Non-refundable trains & hotels. People spending their hard-earned money in this cost of living crisis. People should’ve been given more notice of this. Its disgusting."

Paul Lawrenson said the cancellation was an 'absolute disgrace and an embarrassment of Manchester to the whole world', while another fan asked: "Can you break this to my 12yr old daughter due to go on Friday for her birthday please ? Least you can do."

"You guys could have said this WEEKS before so fans staying in the city could get their money back, this is just embarrassing," another wrote.

Tonight, ticket holders were told to 'leave the arena' after bosses announced the concert would not be going ahead due to a 'technical issue'. The decision came just ten minutes before the opening support act was due on stage.

The M.E.N later revealed the gig was axed after part of an air conditioning unit fell from the gantry inside the venue prior to the start of the concert.
