Greater Austin Area Hit by Severe Thunderstorm

A severe thunderstorm affected the greater Austin area on Thursday, June 8.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Texas Hill Country, alerting residents of wind gusts, hail, and lightning. The storms had eased up on Thursday afternoon, but there were chances of severe weather later in the day, the weather service said.
