Crews from a brand new Netflix series have been spotted in Stockport. Behind the scenes footage has given a glimpse of how a part of Stockport has been transformed for a new drama set in Dublin and New York.

House of Guinness will be the new series about the Guinness family and the aftermath of the death of the founder Benjamin Guinness. The biopic, which is being led by Peaky Blinder creator Stevie Knight, will follow Benjamin's four children, Arthur, Edward, Anne and Ben as the company grows.

The release date for the drama has not been revealed but earlier this week it was announced that filming for the show would begin in the north west. Pictures from the set show how the Underbank area of Stockport has been meticulously redesigned to resemble the 19th century period.

The House of Guinness filming in Stockport adds to the Greater Manchester town's building reputation as the 'Hollywood of the north'. Recent reports have shown that more and more major production companies have been flocking to Stockport as a base of operations for their major projects.

In recent years, the borough has served as the backdrop for popular shows including Peaky Blinders, Dodger, It’s A Sin and ITV’s recent hit The Tower. Figures from Filming in England have revealed that since January 2018, 197 shoot days have taken place across Stockport, with an estimated production spend of more than £3.5 million.
