Greek firefighters tackling wildfire find migrants

STORY: The migrants said among them were 23 Syrians, one Iraqi and one Lebanese.

The wildfire in the northeastern region of Evros, Europe's deadliest blaze this summer, has killed at least 20 people, destroyed homes and livelihoods and scorched lush forests.

All but one of the dead in the Evros fire are believed to have been irregular migrants who crossed over from Turkey, evading police in the forest.

The migrants found on Friday were taken to a safer area in the back of an emergency service pickup.
