Greggs to sell fish finger sandwiches in select stores
Greggs is to trial selling fish finger sandwiches and a fish finger wrap in selected shops from Thursday, May 23. The Fish Finger Sandwich will be available with a choice of either ketchup or mayo and is made from a battered cod fillet fish, dressed with iceberg lettuce inside a soft roll.
The Fish Finger Wrap is also made from cod fillet fish, with mixed leaves, cucumber and mayonnaise, in a soft tortilla wrap.
Customers were quick to share their reactions on social media earlier today with one fan commenting “bet these are banging”, another following with “this is an actual dream”. Some comments even begged the retailer to extend the trial to London and even further afield as a superfan down in Australia comments “please bring a Greggs fish finger sandwich to Australia!”.
All three of the new made-to-order menu additions will be available to order from the counter and will be part of Greggs’ hot sandwich deal – which includes any hot sandwich, Southern Fried Potato Wedges or Side Salad, with any cold drink from £4.95. The Fish Finger Sandwich and Fish Finger Wrap join the existing made-to-order range which currently includes a range of burgers and wraps - Mayo Crispy Chicken Burger, Spicy Crispy Chicken Burger, Sweet Chilli Chicken Wrap, Hot & Spicy Chicken Wrap and Classic Mayo Chicken Wrap.
The new range will be trialled in 10 shops and will be added to a further 10 across the region in June before a potential national rollout in forthcoming months. From Thursday 23 May they will be available at:

To announce the new menu at the weekend, Greggs opened their very first mobile seaside fish and chip shop on Whitley Bay’s promenade, named ‘Finest Catch by Greggs’ and was wrapped entirely in vintage Greggs newspaper. Launched by the South Shields actor, presenter and comedian, Rosie Ramsey, the pop-up was an ode to one of Britain’s most nostalgic and wholesome dinnertime treats. The star was donned in ‘Finest Catch by Greggs’ uniform, serving customers through the hatch as they queued along the seafront.
The cheeky pop-up gave customers the exclusive opportunity to sample the new menu in classic newspaper-style packaging ahead of Thursday’s official launch, and a chance to relax in the sunshine in canopy-style deckchairs as they enjoyed a Greggs twist on a British classic.
