Greta Lee & Kingsley Ben-Adir In Negotiations To Star In Louis Leterrier’s Sci-Fi Horror ‘11817’ — Cannes Market Hot Project

EXCLUSIVE: Here’s some buzzy casting. Greta Lee (Past Lives) and Kingsley Ben-Adir (Bob Marley: One Love) are in negotiations to star in director and producer Louis Leterrier’s (Now You See Me) upcoming sci-fi horror film 11817.

Both actors are on a roll. The former is coming off a string of hits including Oscar nominee Past Lives, Apple TV drama The Morning Show and Sony’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, while Ben-Adir’s last two movies couldn’t have gone much better in the shape of box office hits Bob Marley: One Love and Barbie.

In 11817, inexplicable forces trap a family of four inside their house indefinitely. As both modern luxuries and life or death essentials begin to run out, the family must learn how to be resourceful to survive and outsmart who – or what – is keeping them trapped.

Additional casting is underway on the project, which is based on a script by Matthew Robinson. As revealed last week, Rocket Science is fully financing, handling foreign sales and will introduce the film in Cannes this month, while CAA Media Finance will represent the North American rights.

The film’s producers are Leterrier, Thomas Benski and Omar Sy through their new company Carrousel Studios (this is the first project on the company’s slate). Also producing are Lars Sylvest for Thank You Studios, Kori Adelson for Chernin Entertainment, Oly Obst of 3 Arts Entertainment, Thorsten Schumacher for Rocket Science and Joe Neurauter. Cecile Gaget is an executive producer for Carrousel Studios.

Lee is currently in production as the female lead in the upcoming Tron: Ares alongside Gillian Anderson, Evan Peters, Cameron Monaghan, Jared Leto and Jeff Bridges. Ben-Adir is also known for One Night In Miami, Secret Invasion, and The OA. On the feature side, Letterier most recently directed Universal blockbuster Fast X.

Rocket Science’s Cannes slate includes Ali Abbasi’s Cannes Competition entry, The Apprentice, starring Sebastian Stan, Jeremy Strong, Maria Bakalova, the Cliffhanger reboot, and Chris Evans and Anya Taylor-Joy project Sacrifice.

Lee is repped by UTA, Entertainment 360 and attorney Jackoway Austen. Ben-Adir is repped by CAA, B-Side Management and Range Media Partners.
