Grey's Anatomy cast to reunite with Katherine Heigl

Katherine Heigl is set to reunite with her former Grey's Anatomy co-stars at the upcoming 75th Primetime Emmy Awards.

According to Deadline, Heigl will be part of the awards show's presenting team, joined by her former cast-mates Ellen Pompeo, Justin Chambers, James Pickens Jr. and Chandra Wilson.

The group are one of many set to take to the stage during Monday's show, with reunions for cast members from shows including Sopranos (Lorraine Bracco and Michael Imperioli), Ally McBeal (Calista Flockhart, Greg Germann, Peter MacNicol and Gil Bellows) and American Horror Story (Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott) also set to take place.

The ceremony will also feature tributes to shows All In The Family, Cheers and I Love Lucy.

Heigl appeared as Dr. Izzie Stevens on the show for five years, a role which won her an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2007, before leaving in 2010. Chambers also departed his role as Dr. Alex Karev in 2020.

Season 20 of Grey's Anatomy will premiere March 14, seeing Pickens Jr. and Wilson amongst the returning cast members.

The new episodes will be the first not to feature long-running star Pompeo as a series regular Meredith Grey, with the actress set to make a cameo appearance after her departure at the end of season 19.

Meanwhile, the 75th Emmys had been pushed back from its original airdate last September last year after the recent WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, with the rescheduled ceremony taking place on January 15.

Leading the nominations is the final season of Succession - which is up for 27 awards -followed by The Last of Us with 24 and The White Lotus with 23.

Other shows to receive nominations include The Bear, Ted Lasso, House of The Dragon, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, Daisy Jones & the Six, Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, Only Murders in the Building, Wednesday, Better Call Saul and Andor.
