Griff Is 'Forever Grateful' to Taylor Swift, Shares Behind-the-Scenes Snaps from Supporting Her at London Eras Tour

Griff's dreams came true at the Eras Tour.

On Monday, June 24, the “Vertigo” singer, 23, shared a series of snaps and video on Instagram sharing her gratitude to Taylor Swift for handpicking her as support for her second London date at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, June 22.

In the first photo, the "Maroon" artist, 34, sports a red, sequin bodysuit and points at the camera while wrapping her arm around Griff, who is clad in a sheer, long sleeve dress over shorts. The second and third snaps feature Griff in the same look onstage at the venue. Next, she shared video footage of herself rehearsing choreography onstage, and a still of her during that time. In the final image, Swift, in her red, sequin bodysuit, gives the rising singer/songwriter a side-hug as the "Shades of Yellow" artist holds her hand to her mouth while smiling.

"Forever grateful @taylorswift ⭐️ ❤️," Griff captioned the post.

Ahead of her performance with the pop megastar, Griff told opened up to British Vogue about her relationship with Swift.

“She’s been very, very generous over the years with supporting my music,” she told the outlet. “It always stuns me a little bit.”

While the public only found out about Griff opening for the 14-time Grammy winner in recent months, the tour news was in the works since November 2022, Griff told PEOPLE earlier this month.

“I actually bumped into Taylor at a Kendrick Lamar concert in London. It was so surreal to see her there,” she recalled of seeing the pop star at Lamar’s Big Steppers Tour show a year and a half ago.

Griff added: “We spoke a little and I was congratulating her on everything, and she mentioned then at some point she would love to have me [as an opener on tour one day]. “I was dying.”

The "Miss Me Too" performer, who previously met Swift backstage at the 2021 BRIT Awards, was in disbelief and watched the rapper's set "grinning ear to ear."

Ten months after running into Swift, Griff saw Swift’s Instagram Story that encouraged Swifties to listen to “Vertigo.”

In May, the "Lavender Haze" hitmaker announced that as the opening acts for her London shows she “chose artists whose music I love listening to, and I can’t wait for them to add an extra jolt of excitement to our shows at Wembley Stadium in June.”

Griff quickly shared her excitement around being chosen as an opening act on on Instagram.

“If you know me you know this might be one of the most surreal things to say but TAYLOR SWIFT HAS INVITED ME ON THE ERAS TOUR!!!!!!!!!! 8 yr old me who had fearless on repeat wouldn’t believe this. So unbelievably grateful to Taylor for all the love she’s shown me and my music," she captioned the post alongside an Eras Tour poster.

Griff told PEOPLE that being selected to open for Swift “means so much" and is "pretty wild."
