Ground Stop Issued at DFW Airport as Severe Storms Lash North Central Texas

Aviation authorities issued a ground stop at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport as severe storms impacted north central Texas on Thursday, March 2.

The National Weather Service (NWS) said it had received reports of wind gusts up to 80 mph.

“If your phones alerted and you hear sirens, that is for wind speeds as strong as a weak tornado,” the NWS tweeted. “So treat it like one! Get inside, away from windows!”
