Gutted Kris Boyd declares Rangers OUT of title race as Celtic told it's theirs to lose
Scunnered Kris Boyd reckons the title race is now OVER after Rangers' shocking collapse.
Gers' long-awaited game in hand at Dens Park ended in a goalless draw as the Ibrox side lost further ground on Celtic at the top just days after crashing to a dismal 3-2 defeat in Dingwall. Now, Philippe Clement's strugglers must win all five of their remaining games - including next month's Old Firm clash at Parkhead - to stand a chance of getting their hands on the league trophy.
Celts now boast a three-point advantage and superior goal difference and Ibrox legend Boyd has waved the white flag by insisting there's no way back for his former club.
The Sky Sports pundit said: "I said after the Rangers vs Celtic game at Ibrox that it was going to be a tough ask, but they've made it a lot harder now. Rangers can go and win that game at Celtic Park now and it's still irrelevant. There's five goals in it as well... I just can't see any way back for Rangers now."
While Boyd was in a deflated mood, the same couldn't be said for Celtic hero Chris Sutton, who urged his colleague to cheer up. He said: "Is it Celtic's to lose? Of course it is. They are in front, three points ahead. I bet they can't believe what they are seeing. I do think they will win it."
