Hailey Baldwin slams Taylor Swift's 'squad'

Taylor Swift has become as famous for her infamous ‘squad’ as she is for her music, with the singer parading her group of beautiful, famous, female friends around on tours, Instagram posts and even her music videos.

However, there is one star who won’t be applying for membership, with 20-year-old model Hailey Baldwin slamming Taylor’s need to “create a public squad”.

And do you know what? We think that she might just have a point.

Hailey isn’t exactly scrimping on the famous friends front, with her close pals including Karlie Kloss, Selena Gomez and Kendall Jenner, however, she doesn’t feel that there is a need for her to flaunt her friendships and use them for publicity.

She explains in a new interview: “I don’t understand the Taylor Swift squad at all, I don’t know what having a squad means.

“I just have my friends and that’s it – I don’t think that you need to create a public squad. I don’t know what that proves.

“So I don’t really understand the Taylor Swift squad at all.”

Hailey is the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin, and she went on to admit that she has relied on her famous father to teach her how to make time for her friends and family whilst juggling her career.

She added to Australia’s Yahoo7 Be: “It is a struggle to make time for your family, but my dad tries to help me with that and explains to me the life choices I can make to maintain my privacy and have time for family.”

However, Hailey is adamant that she wants to make sure that she is known for her own talents instead of her famous family, continuing: “I want to do everything on my own without my name being a factor. I try to keep myself separate from it.

“Kids that already have a famous background are just following in their families’ footsteps – my dad and all of his brothers have done this. This is my family business.

“My dad has said to me that if he ever thought I was getting out of line, he would fly anywhere and rag me by my hair and make me move home but my parents know I’m a good kid.”
