Yahoo News Hairdresser named best salon stylist in UK at top industry awards
A stylist from Ayr has been recognised as the Salon Stylist of the Year at the annual British Hairdressing Business Awards 2024.
Rachael Macdonald, Salon Director at Rainbow Room International in Ayr, picked up the award following a ceremony at London’s Park Plaza Westminster Bridge on Monday, July 1.
Now in its 25th year, the British Hairdressing Business Awards aims to highlight “those making waves in the hairdressing industry”.
In a competitive category, Racheal emerged as the judges choice for her “exceptional skills, creativity, dedication to the craft, and ability to transform clients while maintaining the highest standards of hairdressing”.
The news comes amid an extraordinary year for Rachael, who won the Fantastic Hairdresser of the Year award at Rainbow Room International’s annual congress awards ceremony in February.
Rachael has also been heavily involved with the Rainbow Room International Artistic Team, working with the team backstage at London Fashion Week, TRNSMT and BAFTA Scotland, presenting on stage at industry events including Salon International and Hair Club Live and supporting the team on their creative collection photoshoots.
Reflecting on her achievement, Rachael said: “Winning the British Stylist of the Year is the most incredible moment of my career thus far. It is something that I never thought I’d be able to achieve.
“Last year I decided to start saying yes to every opportunity that came my way and doing so has brought me to this incredible moment.
“I’m so blessed to have incredible support from my colleagues, my clients and my family. I can’t wait to see what else will happen as I keep on saying yes.”
