Hairy Bikers Dave Myers and Si King pictured relaxing together in 'last photo' of cooking duo

A picture of TV chefs the Hairy Bikers sat on a sofa together is believed to be one of the last of the duo before Dave Myers' death.

Myers died "peacefully at home" on Wednesday two years after revealing he had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing treatment.

He was 66 years old.

Three weeks before his death, Myers' wife shared what is thought to be one of the last photos of the motorcycle-riding cooking duo together.

It shows the pair lounged on a cream-coloured sofa ready to watch the first episode in their latest BBC series, Hairy Bikers Go West, which aired on 6 February.

"Our boys," Liliana Myers wrote on Facebook, adding: "Watching the first leg of their trip!!!"

Another image saw Myers and King posing and pointing in front of the television.

In an earlier post, Mrs Myers said it was the first time the pair had watched one of their programmes together.

King announced the death of his co-star Myers in a statement on Thursday, writing that he would "miss him every day and the bond and friendship we shared over half a lifetime".

Mrs Myers later paid tribute to her "wonderful, brave" husband on social media.

She said: "Rest in peace, my love. My wonderful, brave man. Till next time we meet!"

Myers and King first met on a TV drama series called The Gambling Man in 1995.

It wasn't until 2004 that they appeared on TV together in part cooking, part travel show, The Hairy Bikers' Cookbook.

Over their near 30-year friendship and careers, the pair published more than 25 cookbooks and created 31 cooking programmes, according to the Hairy Bikers official website.
