Liliana told Lorraine Kelly: "Of course, everybody who lived with somebody in their lives misses them. But there's a different layer to it. Because if I turn on the TV he might on. Cookbooks in the house everywhere – all of them stained.

"His energy is everywhere. It just transpires and rolls on into this beautiful thing that's happening at the weekend. He's always been a very active person, he's always been a very positive person, and that carries on. I want to keep that going. Because that is what he would have wanted."

Myers met Lilliana Orzac when he was filming the first series of The Hairy Bikers' Cookbook in Romania and she was running a hotel where he stayed. Over then next two years the TV star wooed her until she eventually agreed to become his wife.

Liliana revealed: "The jewels that he threw at me at the beginning were words. We met when he was on the very first Hairy Bikers series. After Romania, they travelled to Mexico to Argentina to Turkey to India. It was from these beautiful places that he used to send me these beautiful emails – about the food, about the people, about the local smells, about the culture.

"They were wonderful emails about these wonderful trips and it just it it it just fascinated me. That's how it started. And we kind of we thought, 'Oh, let's meet up.' We used to meet up in different parts of Europe for weekends."

Liliana revealed the first ever meal that chef Myers made for her was a sandwich.

She said: "The first dinner he ever made for me was a beautiful sandwich. We always laughed about it!"

This is separate to a previous memorial bike ride to Myers which took place in Scarborough in April.

Liliana revealed: "After he passed, I had so many messages from all over the world, asking how could they pay respects. People wanted to pay respect and people loved him and they loved that energy that he had always. And this idea came to do a motorbike ride in his memory to celebrate his life."
