The film, which will be written by Lori Rosene-Gambino and directed by Jan Komasa, will follow a “very close-knit family that is torn apart as new movement ‘The Change’ envelops the US.”

Lionsgate and Fifth Season are launching the project. “It’s rare to read a script that keeps you so captivated and emotionally invested like Anniversary does,” said Fifth Season's Graham Taylor and Chris Rice. “Jan is the perfect filmmaker to bring this thrilling story to life and we are excited to go on this journey with Lionsgate, this talented filmmaking team, and this amazing cast.”

Brewer stars as Janine Lindo on The Handmaid’s Tale, which is due to conclude later this year with a sixth and final season. Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, creator Bruce Miller teased fans about the prospect of the dystopian series ending, hinting at what is left to come.
