This weekend, Birmingham's trendiest high street will be taken over by the UK's biggest street carnival after Notting Hill with tens of thousands of people expected to attend. Harborne Carnival will return this Sunday, June 23 with live music performances on stage and street food and shop stalls spanning the length of the main road.

This year marks the 27th anniversary of the carnival, which has been running since 1997, and has attracted crowds of up to 70,000 people in previous years. Local bands and singers will be providing entertainment throughout the day and traders from Digbeth Dining Club - including Disco Fries, Fat Snags, Fireaway Grill, Hope You're Hungry, Leave it to Esmie and Street Chef - will be among those serving food and drink, alongside The Plough's street food caravan, The Currywurst and Classic Cocktails.

Crowd favourites from last year's line-up will also be returning, including Voice of the Town Choir, Vivid Soul, Got2Sing Choir, Bhangra Smash Up and Dancers, Average White Horse Band and a new addition for 2024, Marlyle Charles. All profits raised from the carnival will go towards pioneering medical research and local community projects.
